From August 2021 to October 2022, a series of online workshops were held to support the implementation of local community-based flood and drought management projects in six sites in the Volta Basin by strengthening the capacity of local actors.

These projects were prepared by the local partners of VFDM with support from K&I.

The selected partners and sites in each of the six Volta countries are:

Tabota/Boukombé (Benin), ONG Alpha et Oméga Environnement;

Badara/Bama (Burkina Faso), Partenaire National de l’Eau du Burkina Faso;

Sangabili/Bondoukou (Côte d’Ivoire), ONG La CIBES;

Kunkua/Bongo (Ghana), Organization for Indigenous Initiatives and Sustainability;

Kandé/Baye (Mali), ONG Delta Survie;

Daoudè (Togo), ONG Jeunes Volontaires pour l’Environnement.

Beyond the entities already mentioned, the workshop was attended by some VFDM officials of the Volta Basin Authority (VBA), the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the Global Water Partnership-West Africa (GWP-WA) and the Cima Foundation.
