Gender Equality Plan 2022-2025
Since its inception, gender equality has been one of the missions of Conoscenza e Innovazione (Knowledge & Innovation – K&I) and one of its main research areas. This has meant paying particular attention to gender dynamics within the organisation and adopting a series of measures to promote gender equality. These were based on established principles, but had not been translated into a coherent set of explicit rules, also given the size of the organisation.
In 2021, the European Commission introduced the existence of a Gender Equality Plan (GEP) as an eligibility criterion for all public bodies, higher education institutions and research organisations to participate in the Horizon Europe Framework Programme. Seizing this opportunity, the members of K&I decided to make their internal gender equality practices more explicit and stronger by establishing a single four-year GEP for the period 2022-2025, tailored to the specificities of K&I.
