(VFDM) Cooperation in the implementation of the Volta Flood and Drought Management program

The project, carried out as part of the framework agreement between OMM, GWP and K&I relating to the Associated Program on Flood Management, consists in strengthening the capacities of local actors for enhancing their involvement in the management of floods and droughts in 6 sites in the countries of the Volta Basin (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali and Togo). Specifically, K&I is required to provide technical assistance and to monitor the training activities carried out by 6 local partners (one in each of the 6 countries) and to prepare a Manual on the involvement of local populations in the management of flood and drought risks. The 6 sites were selected from a previous mapping work of floods and analysis of the vulnerability and existing capacities at the local level, in 60 sites in these same countries.
